On the first day of photography we were introduced to 2 types of photography; that that you can use props for and plan it our and street photography where you capture spontaneous moments in time. We then learned how to do the basics with Nikon cameras. After that we looked at different photographs and why they were affective. I liked the photographs that are rather political. One of the photos we had to analyse was called Turbulent and was taken by a Pakistani photography. I appreciated that the artist had something to say and was willing to display such an emotional piece.
Later that day we set out to take photos with the theme "Hidden" in mind. I was more than happy to help my fellow students, but couldn't think of any ideas that day myself. I had a few things in mind, but they were unattainable as I needed to buy the props and had no money to do so that day. Hopefully later this week though I can brainstorm some ideas and ask some friends to help me pursue them.
In the last part of day one we went to visit a gallery. The theme was colour and because we had had a lesson on shutterspeed, people took the opportunity to photograph their friends in front of vibrant painting to get such exaggerated movements that you couldn't see the person anymore. Highlighting the theme of hidden. I like what I came out with and it was good fun doing it too. I'm just a little angry because the image is a tad tilted or grainy. But Ill try to find a way to work around it.
The second day was much easier though. I really enjoyed exploring Falmouth and taking pictures of people, landscapes, buildings...everything. I took so many pictures that I ended up having to delete some off my camera in order to take more. I was a bit more precise in taking pictures in the beginning but later on became more and more careless, the results were still interesting and I'm looking forward to editing them later.
