Today we designed the interior of our white buildings. We observed the other architectural designs of someone else's work first and then attempted to do it ourselves. The first thing that I did was come up with a general theme and because my building is from the movie Blade Runner which is a sic-fi noir, I decided to take inspiration from 50's styled office buildings and the Googleplex. Then I made quick sketches in my book of how I wanted everything to be laid out. Afterwards we had to measure the dimensions of our buildings and scale it down to fit the page.
I really liked thinking up of cool designs and even went a little wild towards the end. My first floor for example is in the shape of an owl as that is a key symbol in the movie that inspired the building. But I found that the work does become tedious after a while of drawing everything perfectly neat so that you create an easy to read layout. Although I am slowly learning a few short cuts such as making quick grids.
