Today we had to design a lamp made up of paper as it is considered a sustainable material and easy to recycle. I really enjoyed thinking about the ethical implication of design and that you have to figure a way around it. You can use your creativity in more than just a visual way, but also in a problem solving manner.
We got to learn some basic illustrator so I played around with shapes, but eventually decided to do something more interactive. I remember our tutor saying that we have to take light into account as well as shape so I made a simple lamp and created a a template with photoshop of the word "think green". I pasted behind the lamp so that no one would see it if the lamp was off, but once someone turned the light on, the words would shine through.

But that was too easy, so I decided that for my final I was going to thermochromatic chemical that would change colour from transparent to red. The words "turn me off" would appear because the lamp has been on for to long, so that it reminds people to save energy
