I wanted to do something interesting with my Zine. I knew many of the illustration students liked drawing out characters or doing something organic- something with loads of different media and materials. I wanted to better my photoshop skills as well, so I thought I could have the content be more like a classic magazine- but then maybe doing something different in the reading or physical part of the zine.
I thought it could be cool to do a zine on people's anonymous messages in a bottle that you could then pull out using a crank shaft. But the more I thought about the materials, the more I realised that the logistics were close to impossible to overcome. First of all, how would I be able to get the pole and the magazine that it is wrapped around into the bottle if the mouth of the bottle was too small?
When i went skiing with my family this christmas I got really inspired by the who ski and swiss culture and decided to change my theme into a ski zine that you could pull out from a whiskey barrel that iss usually found around the necks of St Bernards.
Though I finished the content of my zine, I unfortunately didn't have time to build my whiskey barrel. I should have used my time better.
