People are impossible!!! I swear someone hears that you do a design course and suddenly they think you can do everything to the highest quality. I've never designed websites properly before. I would have liked some time to look at tutorials, perhaps read a few articles, analyse images for research, however I do not have the time, because they want me to do everything now. They have no idea how long it takes to design something or make something or what goes into it. So every time they ask for a new webpage they think it's crap...because it is! I don't have the time but I also don't know where I'm going wrong.
I think it's because I've been looking at the same pixelated screen for days and contemplating if I chose the right field to go into.
The worst part is everyone thinks their a designer. I show my brother what I've designed and he tells me to change something, so I do but it still looks like some immature did it, so he tells me to change something again and I do, but it still looks like shit. An endless cycle of hard work mixed with unproductiveness.
Here is what I've come up with

My version of a welcoming Sign Up page
Most illustrative sign up pages look interactive but simple. This does not look interactive and all the elements on the page seem disconnected. Secondly the button colours are too dark. My brother also didn't like the name...despite the fact that he has not or has no idea what he wan't his name to be. I don't know if it is usually this difficult to work with someone or that it may be better if I had clients who had clearer ideas. But somehow I actually love it. I've worked harder these past few days than I have ever before, and all I want to do is please them. |
